My husband and I had to make the decision to put both of our big dogs to sleep at the same time, due to both of them being old and sick. I was supposed to be there but my doctor’s appointment ran long. As soon as I was out of the doctor, I went by the Vet’s but my husband was already gone. The Vet told me Mike had taken the ordeal pretty hard.

At home I assured him that our dear pets were both in a better place.

About two weeks later we were in a motel in Phoenix and in the middle of the night Mike heard a noise. It was a thump, followed by thump, thump. Thinking it was our air conditioner going out he got up to look at it. Lying in front of the dresser was our dog, Cody, looking healthy and happy. Just like when we would feed him each day, his tail was thumping against the dresser as opposed to the wall in his huge doggie home.

Of course Mike thought he was dreaming but even after he was sure he was awake, Cody remained, happily thumping his tail! Finally Mike went into the restroom and when he came out, Cody was gone.

The practical side of Mike told him if Cody had actually been there the carpet should feel warmer where Cody had been laying. Sure enough when he knelt down and felt the carpet, there was an area right in front of the dresser that was warm while the rest of the carpet was cold!

When Mike related the story to me, I told him Cody was just letting him know that our decision was the right one and now he is free of all pain and illness.
